Recapping the 1st Day and Heads Up on What's to Come!

Isaiah 6:8: Then I heard the voice of the LORD saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here I am, Send me!"

So yesterday was officially the first day. I drove home from Dallas after droppping Mom off at the airport there and then I knew I was on my own. It was a good feeling, I felt very old. ha ha.

This years theme for PT is Summer of Community so we just discussed what a good communtity would and would not look like. It was so good to get to know everyone. Today we leave for Dallas right after a luncheon that Trinity UMC will provide for us as a welcome.

Our site is located at the church so we will work very closely with them all summer. It was fun to hear Courtney (the house pastor) and Erin (the site coordinator) tells us about members of the church. There is one gentleman in the church, about 90, who will feed us all dinner one night and then tell us his life story, literally. So that will be fun, I enjoy hearing life stories!

Well, its time for breakfast and then close to 1245 we will be leaving for Dallas until Wednesday. It'll be good to meet ALL of the interns!
